Description: In the prosperous kingdom of Pars lies the capital Ecbatana in which the undefeated King Andragoras resides with his family and his people. The son of King Andragoras- Arslan- is young, curious, and extremely kind, unlike his parents. At the age of eleven, Arslan meets a young Lusitanian boy who shows him a different perspective of the world. Letting the Lusitanian boy escape Pars, Arslan questions what it means to be a good king with little idea of the fate yet to come. Three years later at Arslan’s first battle, Pars’s army is defeated by Lusitania and the capital is taken over. With Pars crumbling down without its king, Arslan must fight to take back his kingdom. However, along the way, his resolve and legitimacy to rule the kingdom will be questioned. What will the fate of Pars become?

Notes:
– There are two different shows of Arslan Senki. There is the old version from the 1990s and the newer version from 2015. I have only watched the new one, but it seems that the two shows are different from each other. The new version is based more on the manga mentioned above.
– There will be a second season in 2016. It is rumored to come out in the spring, but that is yet to be conformed.
– Although Arslan Senki doesn’t come close to my love of Fairy Tail or Haikyuu, its story, timing, and characters were played out and were planned perfectly. It has been a long time that I found an anime with such a well thought out plot.
